Congratulations to 5th grader Kolden Downey for being the first student at Perry Browne to pass their blackbelt test in Ukulele Karate. This is the his 9th Ukulele Karate belt earned this school year. Kol, and his fellow 5th graders, has learned a lot of songs with chords this year and can also pick out melodies by reading ukulele tabs or traditional music notation. In addition to the ukulele, Kol also enjoys playing the violin and will be performing a violin solo at NYSSMA this weekend. Thanks for being a great music classroom leader, Kol!
