Are you interested in learning about how to help your child as a student? Looking to support them in writing and reading to boost their confidence? You're invited to join a series of caregiver workshops hosted by Advancing Literacy! This series was created to help support the literacy development of children outside of school. These workshops will provide essential guidance and suggestions of ways to work with children outside of the school day to help them become powerful and life-long readers and writers. The Earth Science Honors class researched the science, collaborated as a group and created a bulletin board on space weather. The bulletin board explains the science of the Aurora Borealis as well as the parameters used to forecast the northern lights. The app we focused on was the spaceweatherlive app.

NEW YORK STATE BLUE RIBBON COMMISSION (BRC) ON GRADUATION MEASURES In November 2023, the Blue Ribbon Commission on Graduation Measures presented their recommendations for future diploma requirements to the Board of Regents. Since then, the Department created a vision to implement these recommendations. Meeting attendees will have the opportunity to break into smaller groups to discuss and provide feedback to the Department on their proposed vision for implementing the recommendations of the Blue Ribbon Commission on Graduation Measures. The agriculture class, Food Science and Technology, has already been very busy! Students have mastered knife skills by making salsa, tested surfaces and food for pathogen contamination, and milled oats to observe and determine potential physical hazards and create a Standard Operating Procedure. This is only the start for these food scientists!
