Today, NCSD celebrates Martin Luther King Day where we honor the life of a fighter for racial justice and equality. This day celebrates his dream of a society where he stood up to make a difference for every race. His words spoke for every nationality, to feel no segregation. We say, Thank You Sir!

UDL for Parents & Guardians: Monday, January 23, 2023 6:30-7:30 p.m. EST Parents and guardians play an essential role in a student’s support team. In this session designed with caregivers in mind, we will provide an overview of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) for parents/caregivers and offer information to empower them to be the best advocates for their children in support of inclusion, access, and equity. Please join us as we meet Alison, a parent on her own UDL journey to see what more we can do together to support students and families until learning has no limits. Norwich City Schools is pleased to announce that for the 2022-2023 school year, the district will continue to provide school meals (breakfast and lunch) to ALL students at no cost. This is made possible through the Federal Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). We do ask all families to complete the Eligibility Form linked below which is an essential tool that helps us to ensure the district continues to receive its fair share of state aid revenue. https://5il.co/1ht0q

Early Friday morning, our Gibson cafeteria staff were following protocol, washing bananas to serve our students. All of a sudden, that mundane task turned into anything but. NCSD cafe employees discovered a scorpion in the bananas. It was quickly contained. Our cafeteria and custodial staff followed all protocols and no staff or students were harmed in the discovery. Instead, our High School Zoology students were able to capitalize on the discovery and feed it crickets and study it under a glow light. We believe the scorpion traveled to Norwich all the way from Guatemala, in the banana box. We are grateful for our employees who followed all safety protocols.
