The 24-25 budget represents an investment in people and the PK-12 student experience"- Scott Ryan, Superintendent

Dear NCSD Community, For the 4th time I have the privilege of sharing with you the important details about our upcoming budget for the 2024-25 school year. As we gear up for the district-wide budget vote and board election on May 21, 2024, we want to ensure you have all the necessary information to make an informed decision. This year, we’ve put together a digital budget newsletter to make it easy for you to understand what’s on the table. Along with what you’ll find in this newsletter, we encourage you to check out our district webpage at https://www.norwichcsd.org/page/business-services for more details on our financial planning. Our approach to budget development this year is conservative, focusing on moving closer to our goal of becoming a model organization. With recent discussions from the Governor about school aid, which is a big part of the New York State budget, we need to be ready for potential changes. The Governor has set up a taskforce to investigate how school aid is calculated, which could mean changes based on student enrollment and attendance. So, we’re planning ahead in this uncertain time of high inflation. We’re pleased to announce that we’ll be submitting this budget within the tax cap, which is set at 2.20% for the 2024-25 school year. We’ve carefully considered all aspects of our organization, focusing on the three P’s: People, Program, and Place. Our goal is to ensure that every student, from UPK to our seniors, are well-prepared for the future. This budget will support both our educational programs and our staff to provide a “future ready” experience for all students. Finally, this year’s vote will take place in the district office on 89 Midland Drive. Polls will be open on May 21, 2024 between 11:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Thank you for your continued support as we work towards providing the best possible education for our students.
