Our day at the Transportation Center begins at 5:30 a.m., but it can start as early as 3:30 a.m. when the weather is bad.
We have 20 large bus routes, two wheelchair routes, three 20-passenger routes and two seven-passenger routes. We travel to DCMO BOCES campuses in Norwich and Sidney Center, as well as Bainbridge-Guilford schools. We also utilize three Jeeps to serve the Rome, Binghamton, Unadilla Valley and Gilbertsville-Mount Upton areas.
We provide transportation for Holy Family and Valley Heights Christian Academy, The Place, the Norwich Family YMCA, Plymouth, Preston and Norwich youth groups. In all, we transport more than 2,000 students to and from school per day and travel close to 500,000 miles per year.
New bus drivers must pass a criminal-history check and a health physical; possess a valid Class BPS driver's license; and attend pre-service and 30-hour classes within one year of driving.
