Vision
The vision for technology at Norwich City School District is to provide an equitable approach that cultivates a culture in which all members of the NCSD community utilize technology to create and teach in a way that encourages all members to reach high levels of proficiency in critical thinking, collaboration, and innovation skill, and calls on students to be college, career and entrepreneurial ready.
Technology Planning, Support, Professional Development and Data Management Team
Technology Planning, Support, and Instructional Integration at the Norwich City School District is supported by the South Central Regional Information Center (SCRIC) and Broome-Tioga BOCES Instructional Technology Integration Teams. These teams make up four major focus areas for technology: Planning, Support, Professional Development, and Data Management.
Planning
Technology Planning Leadership provides support for building and maintaining a healthy school district digital ecosystem and to create a vision for how technology will support the district’s strategic and operational goals.
Professional Development
Norwich CSD works with a team of Instructional Technology Integration Specialists from Broome-Tioga BOCES and DCMO BOCES to help work with our staff to learn new technologies and successfully implement their use in the classroom.
Support
Technology support is made up of a centralized Service Desk, PC/LAN field technicians, network specialist and engineers, and IT Project Coordinators. SCRIC field support technicians and an IT Project Coordinator are onsite to support all buildings in the Norwich City School District. Field support technicians implement, support, and maintain all workstations, laptops, iPads, and Chromebooks, printers, scanners and other peripherals. Technicians also support the districts wired and wireless networks.
Data Management
The Managed Data Service provides comprehensive support for select federal and state reporting as well as support and training for data-related activities including data integration between student management, special education, financial, and cafeteria systems.
