Guidelines for Educational Field Experience Programs
The staff and administration of the Norwich City School District recognize the importance of mentoring new people into the teaching profession. Therefore, we willingly provide the opportunity for educational field experiences in all of our programs including the areas of special education, counseling, and related services. To this end we will work with placement offices at post-secondary institutions to make the process efficient and timely and the experience meaningful.
If you are interested in a field experience in the Norwich City School District, please complete the Request for Field Experience and submit it to the Office of Instruction and Staff Development.
Procedures for Norwich Faculty and Staff
Placement offices have been asked to direct their requests to the Office of Instruction and Staff Development. However, for a variety of reasons teachers are often contacted directly. Please refer requests for any type of field experience to the Office of Instruction and Staff Development.
Staff members may host multiple short-term field experiences in a year, but only one student teacher per year. None of these placements should be concurrent.
